Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a policy exception for a new hire for the grant funded Family Recovery Court position reporting to the 395th District Court.
Background
The District Court Case Manager position is funded through an Office of Juvenile Justice Programs grant and was advertised at the minimum of the grade per budget policy (B.24 -- $46,781.24). The position was posted in late November of 2021. We went through hiring process, screening 62 applications, and we have not yet found a qualified candidate. We would like to use additional grant funds available and post a range up to 15% over the minimum of the grade ($53,798.42) in hopes that increasing the salary will help us to attract higher quality candidates. No general fund dollars would be needed and the grant has funding to support this request.
