The Austin Vet Center provides psychological counseling and support to Veterans of Williamson County and surrounding counties. Their office currently exists at the Austin Outpatient VA Clinic in far South Austin.  A previous MOU, approved in 2019, provided an opportunity for the Veterans of Williamson County to seek psychological counseling closer to home on a continuing basis, in this case, every Wednesday, during regular office hours for Williamson County Veteran Services at the office located at 100 Wilco Way, Suite V101.  The current arrangement has proven to be very successful but the demand has increased and, therefore, we are seeking to add an additional day for appointments.  This MOU will allow the Austin Vet Center to provide appointments on Wednesday and an additional day of the week that is mutually agreeable to both offices.  Since we currently have additional office space that was allocated for future growth of the office, it is deemed to be a good service to provide for these veterans. If the services are more accessible, it is more likely that the Veterans will seek help and follow up with the services provided. Veteran Services requests approval of this MOU.
