Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on the engagement of the law firm of Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons LLP to represent Mark Luera, a former employee of the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, in relation to Civil Action No. 1:21-cv-00374-RP; Gary Watsky v. Williamson County, Texas, et al.; In the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division; and exemption of these services from the competitive bid/proposal requirements of the County Purchasing Act pursuant to the discretionary exemption for personal or professional services, as set forth under Texas Local Government Code § 262.024(a)(4).
