Discuss, consider and take appropriate action to authorize the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to accept the Criminal Justice Division Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant Program. 

On September 13, 2022, the Commissioners Court approved the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to apply for the Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant Program through the Office of the Governor's Criminal Justice Division (agenda item 61). The Office of the Governor has accepted our application and the Sheriff's Office is seeking approval from the Court to accept the grant. If the grant is accepted, Williamson County will be awarded approximately $79,040.00 to purchase Level III bullet-resistant shields. No match is required.

Staff recommends the following action: Approve the Sheriff's Office to accept the Criminal Justice Division Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant Program through the Office of the Governor's Criminal Justice Division and approve appropriate County department personnel to complete documentation relevant to the implementation of the grant.
