Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $177,807.62 for Project T3346 Southeast Loop Segment 1 Phase 1 (James Construction Group, LLC) P: 463 Funding Source: Road Bond.

This Change Order replaces the Single Guardrail Terminal (SGT's) end treatments and Metal Beam Guard Fence (MBGF) with permanent crash cushions on the eastbound side of both bridges. This is necessary due to the SGT’s and MBGF not being able to be installed properly due to the retaining wall (MSE) rock backfill, MSE straps and storm drain that are in conflict. This Change Order also adds a concrete driveway item to the Contract, due to the contractor having to remove a portion of an existing driveway to install the 48-inch concrete drainage pipe. This existing driveway was constructed after the plans were generated.

This Change Order results in a net increase of $177,807.62 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $11,926,314.45. The original Contract amount was $11,526,789.09. As a result of this and all Change Orders to-date, $399,525.36 has been added to the Contract, resulting in a 3.5% net increase in the overall Contract cost.
