Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on a policy exception for a promotion in the District Attorney’s Office.
Background
The First Assistant District Attorney (PCN 0054) is retiring on August 9, 2023. The District Attorney is promoting the Appellate Division Chief (PCN 0083) to the First Assistant position. The promoted employee possesses similar qualifications and experience as the currently serving First Assistant.
The District Attorney requests to pay the current budgeted salary amount to the promoted employee. The current budgeted salary on the First Assistant position exceeds 15% of the minimum of the B46 Grade and exceeds 10% above the promoted employee’s current salary.
The Court has approved similar requests for other Elected Officials and Department Heads including the Sheriff (12/15/2020 - Item 56), Juvenile Services (12/07/2021 - Item 44), and the Auditor (2/07/2023 - Item 36).
