Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action creating the Risk Fund for the purpose of self-funding the County’s Workers' Compensation Program beginning in FY24. The Risk Fund shall be identified as accounts 01.0840.0840 and 01.0840.0841.
Background
The Commissioners Court voted in favor of moving to a self-funded Workers' Compensation Program on August 22, 2023. The County Auditor’s Office, Budget Office, and Risk Management propose this Risk Fund to serve as the funding mechanism for the program.
