Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 6 in the amount of $399,968.56 for Project 22IFB57 CR 401 Reconstruction (James Construction) P: 390 Funding Source: Road Bond.
Background
This Change Order includes items needed for the road tie-in at the UPRR crossing due to unforeseen field conditions. These changes resulted in adjusted bid quantities and installation of additional signage to improve the safety of the traveling public at the railroad crossing. This Change Order also compensates the contractor for repairing two (2) separate crash cushion attenuators, as well as additional traffic control needed for the repair work. Lastly, this Change Order compensates the contractor for removing a power pole that conflicted with the proposed roadway. Multiple items will be added by this Change Order. Please see attached Change Order.
This Change Order results in an increase of $399,968.56 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $13,904,063.34. The original Contract amount was $12,673,200.94. As a result of this and all Change Orders to-date, $1,230,862.40 has been added to the Contract, resulting in an 9.71% net increase to the overall Contract cost.
