Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 12 in the amount of $64,791.00 for Project 22IFB139 FM3349 US79 (James Construction) P: 332 Funding Source: Road Bond.

Background

This Change Order provides compensation to the Contractor for modifying the encasement length and elevation of the Jonah water line bored under US 79 and UPRR. These changes were necessary to clear a conflict with an existing gas line and to provide encasement for the water line through the UPRR ROW. In addition, this Change Order compensates the Contractor for abandoning (capping and grouting) the existing 2" Jonah water line located within UPRR ROW on the South side of US 79. Please see attached Change Order for additional details.

This Change Order results in a net increase of $64,791.00 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $83,820,243.45. The original Contract amount was $81,941,038.13.  As a result of this and all Change Orders to-date, $1,879,205.32 has been added to the Contract, resulting in an 2.29% net increase in the Contract cost.  No additional days will be added to or deducted from the Contract as a result of this Change Order.
