Agenda Item
Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on recognizing key staff from Emergency Management, Emergency Services, Parks, Wireless and TDEM.
Background
Remote Automated Weather Stations (RAWS) are self-contained, portable and permanent, solar-powered weather stations. There are nearly 2,200 interagency RAWS strategically located throughout the United States. Williamson County has 3 RAWS - 1 in Southwest Regional Park, River Ranch Park and Hidden Springs. The data collected from these stations is used in numerous applications, including fire weather, climatology, resource management, and flood warning. County Emergency Management would like to recognize key staff members for their assistance in building and securing the RAWS in the county parks.
