9:30 am Conduct public hearing relating to a request from Juvenile Services to transfer the funding for a new part-time position for a Nurse from surplus salary dollars within the department budget and discuss (1) the reason for the funding transfer, including the public purpose that will be served by transferring the funding; and (2) the exact amount of the funding transfer, the sources of the payment, and the terms for distribution of the payment that effect and maintain the public purpose to be served if any excess is needed.
Background
1. The reason for the funding transfer is to approve a new part-time position with Juveniles Services budget. The department is requesting the position be funded at $25/hr, which is the same rate currently being paid to the temporary staff filling this position. The public will be well served by the role this position will play in the health and safety of our juvenile population.
2. The funding to be transferred is $46,634.90 (see detail attached) the source is within the department's approved budget, which will be paid through the normal bi-weekly payroll. No excess is needed.
