Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on adopting a resolution of support for legislation that would create a new District Court in Williamson County, Texas that would help address an increased criminal case workload; and discuss, consider, and take appropriate action to direct the Williamson County Purchasing Department to negotiate a Professional Services Agreement with the National Center for State Courts to provide an evaluation of the caseflow management practices and management of judicial resources in relation to Williamson County’s District Courts and County Courts at Law and make recommendations for increased efficiencies and enhancements that may be made to meet the increased workloads of such courts and exempting the purchase from competitive bidding under Texas Local Government Code 262.024(a)(2) as being an item necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the residents of Williamson County.
