Discuss and take appropriate action on a request by County Court at Law 2 to apply for a Veterans Treatment Court Grant offered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance to support the Williamson County Veterans Treatment Court.

The Notice of Funding was released in March 2026. Grant applications are due on May 4, 2026. This is a reimbursement grant with no match requirement. The purpose of this funding is to provide support for the CCL2 Veterans Treatment Court by providing specialized treatment court services to eligible Veterans. The additional services would allow the Veterans Treatment Court to continue its mission to enhance public safety by providing supervision and treatment to offenders through a judicially supervised, therapeutic court that ensures accountability and recovery. The additional services would also continue to reduce recidivism. The grant funding period, if selected for this grant, would be October 1, 2026, to 9/30/2030.
