Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on recognition of the 2016 Air Central Texas Public Sector Award to Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ron Morrison (posthumous).
Background
The Capitol Area Council of Governments' (CAPCOG) 2016 Air Central Texas Public Sector Award recognized Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ron Morrison. The award was presented at an awards luncheon November 4, 2016.
The award citation reads: "Commissioner Morrison's commitment to making Williamson County and Central Texas a better place to live and raise a family eventually led him to holding leadership positions on both the Central Texas Clean Air Coalition and CLEAN AIR Force of Central Texas. Since joining each committee in 2006, he helped provide a bridge between the various interests involved in regional air quality planning efforts. Likewise, his service on these committees gave him insight into this important regional issue, and he was able to keep the Williamson County Commissioners' Court engaged in regional air quality planning efforts over his years of service. His work on Central Texas air quality issues provided an example to others throughout the region."
