Discuss, consider and take appropriate action related to determining the process in which to fill a potential vacancy in the Office of the Williamson County Treasurer (Loc. Gov’t Code Sec. 87.041).
Background
Loc. Gov’t Code Sec. 87.041 sets forth that the commissioners court of a county may, by a majority vote of the members of the court who are present and voting, fill a vacancy in the office of county treasurer. The person appointed by the commissioners court to fill the vacancy shall hold office until the next general election.
