Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving $18,456.56 in additional salary funding for the newly created Assistant Chief position.
Background
These positions were created with the anticipation of creating a Fire Marshall's Office for the County. Due to the excessive experience needed in order to create a successful Fire Marshall's Office, additional salary funding is needed in order to recruit candidates with the necessary experience. New positions are funded at the bottom of the grade and the Hazmat Office does not have access to additional salary funding within it's own budget. The salary offered will not exceed the amount allowed by policy. The department is willing to use 8004 for the delta, with the approval of the court.
