Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on approving the purchase from NJC, LLC dba The Door Co. in the amount of $13,243.00 and exempting this purchase from competitive bidding requirements as per Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemption 262.024(a)(2) and 262.024(a)(3).

Background

The bay door at the jail loading dock was hit by a vehicle and damaged beyond repair. The door had to be taken down and is currently secured with chain link panels. Due to the security concerns for the jail loading dock, an emergency purchase was necessary to order the door. Due to the lead time on producing the door being several weeks it was critical to expedite this order. The cost includes an amount of $545.00 for the expedition. The tentative installation date is July 18, 2018. This expenditure was charged to 01.0100.1008.004510.
