Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the contract statement of work from Motorola Solutions, Inc. for WILCO NICE Technology Consolidation. (Note: procurement made pursuant to the Houston-Galveston Area Council HGAC contract #RA05-18).
Background
This project proposal will be combined with the current replacement of the Williamson County 911 Dispatch, NICE Recording network. The current NICE-CISCO integration project for replacement of the NRX and INFORM servers is currently underway. Both servers had reached end of life and could no longer be supported in either hardware or software. These legacy pieces of equipment originally impeded the dispatch centers ability to change over to the new CISCO phone system, but also limited their ability to utilize other integration features such as supporting CAD integration and text to 911. Combination of the ongoing NICE project with this proposal allowed the County to benefit from a vendor discount from both NICE and Motorola to improve pricing as opposed to making this a separate project. Deployment of the engineering and installation resources will be simultaneous and has allowed for a huge part of the cost savings. The proposal for this agenda item includes, the INFORM server being installed to be upgraded from Professional to ELITE, this upgrade will allow for CAD integration and GIS mapping to the logging solution. The proposal also includes text to 911 for 25 positions and AQUA integration for (9) users. Also, in the original proposal we had requested additional licensing for both reconstruction and organizer as well as a Q/A expansion for additional agents, by installing the version of ELITE these items went from ala’ carte to inclusive with the higher tier server.
