The bid was viewed by 59 suppliers and 5 bids were submitted. The bidding was competitive with the lowest bidders being within 3% of each other. In addition to meeting the bid qualifications to being the low bidder, Cox Commercial Construction is currently the prime contractor performing similar work on CR 200 at Bold Sundown, a Road Bond Program project. They were also the Prime Contractor on the RM 620, PH 2 and Bill Pickett Trail. Based on the low bid of $1,705,061.70 and the previous quality of work, HNTB concur with Design Engineers O’Brien Engineering, Recommendation of Award for the CR 200 at SH 29-Loop 332 construction contract to Cox Commercial Construction. The Point of Contact for this Bid is HNTB and Road Bond and TxDOT Funds will be utilized.
