Discuss, consider and take appropriate action to set spending limit for Fiscal Year 2019 per Texas Local Government Code 130.908.
Background
It has been the practice that when an elected official is not seeking reelection or the incumbent elected official is not renominated that the spending be limited to the percentage of time they will occupy office. The recommendation for this limit would be that the outgoing elected official be limited to spending 25% of the Fiscal Year 2019 budget. This would not apply to merit funds as those are dollars budgeted to fund performance for the period prior to the beginning of the fiscal year.
