Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the rental of a temporary boiler unit with HVAC RNTL in the amount of $10,700.00 (month one) / $4,200.00 (each additional month) to support the operations of the Williamson County Jail and exempting this emergency rental from competitive bidding requirements as per Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemption 262.024.(a)(3).

The existing hot water system at the North Jail is no longer sustaining the required hot water temperature as required by Jail Standards. While Facilities works with Talex Engineers to find a permanent solution, a portable/temporary water heater is needed. The first month cost of this unit will be $10,700.00 and $4,200.00 per month thereafter. Facilities projects the permanent solution will be installed within two months.
