Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on new Contract for Engineering Services with HNTB Corporation to provide Construction Observation Services for the Limestone Terrace project.
Background
The Limestone Terrace project includes concrete pavement roadways and requires more specialized construction inspection than a standard County project. County staff recommends utilizing HNTB to supplement to County inspection staff and perform construction observation on the Limestone Terrace project. HNTB is currently performing construction observation for the Road Bond program and the same staff can be utilized to observe Limestone Terrace with little additional effort. A new contract is required due to the different funding source. The Williamson County Road and Bridge Department seeks exemption of this contract from the standard procurement process because HNTB is uniquely qualified to perform the work, as they are already mobilized and can perform the work by reallocating staff from other Williamson County projects.
