Background
Williamson County received 5 bids and the IFB was viewed by 42 suppliers. The Contractor’s low bid is $46,482.60 below the Engineer’s Estimate, a cost decrease of 4.7%. In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being low bidder, Smith Contracting Co., Inc has performed similar work on other projects and received positive references from those contacted. Based on the low bid of $986,624.94 and previous work experience the county engineer recommends award for the CR 279 stabilizing, milling and overlay to Smith Contracting Co., INC. HNTB is the point of Contact and P241, Road Bonds will be utilized.
