Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the Cyber Security Awareness Training Policy to assist with conforming to Texas HB 3834.
Background
The County is now required to conduct annual cyber security awareness training for all employees and elected officials and report the results of such testing to the State per HB 3834. This new law took effect in June 2019 and we are required to complete this and report by June 14, 2020. To that end, Technology Services has a proposed policy to conform to this requirement for consideration. The curriculum and exact process is still under development, as well as many details about the training, but the overall policy is needed to begin the process. Technology Services will work with HR and other departments on any specific items and process needed.
