Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on exempting Transcend Tactical from the competitive bidding requirements established by Section 262.024.(a)(7) of the Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemptions, as the sole provider for a tactical robot with non-lethal deployment system to support the operations of the Williamson County Sheriff's Office and authorizing execution of the agreement.
Background
Transcend Tactical is the owner and only provider of a stair climbing tactical robot with a non-lethal deployment system. The sole source posting was in Negometrix for 14 days with no competitive responses received. The requested Sole Source designation would be applicable for a period of 36 months. The quote outlines the components of the robot and accessories including the non-lethal deployment system. Total cost for this purchase is $30,450.
