This Change Order compensates the Contractor for modifications to Driveway 1. The adjacent property owner requested that the driveway remain at the current existing elevation. After review of the plans, the driveway could be raised to match the current elevation and maintain maximum clearance under the bridge. The change also includes improving the strength of the driveway by adding 6" of flexible base to the pavement section and using higher strength concrete. These improvements were necessary, due to the high volume of heavy truck and trailer traffic that use the driveway.
