Information
Agenda Item
Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on authorizing the Williamson County & Cities Health District (WCCHD) to use the remaining AIT COVID-19 Test Kits that were originally allocated for use at long-term care facilities in Williamson County for purposes of the WCCHD’s community-based testing Program.
Background
The Commissioners Court originally procured 1,000 AIT COVID-19 Test Kits to be used at long-term care facilities in the event they were needed for possible cluster testing and situations. The WCCHD still has over 700 AIT COVID-19 Test Kits that were allocated for use at long-term care facilities. Pursuant to Governor Abbott’s directive, all long-term care facilities have now been tested through strike teams. The WCCHD would like to ramp up its community-based testing as much as possible over the next six weeks and has asked to use the remaining kits for community-based testing.
