Agenda Item
Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a First Contract Renewal of the Participating Entity Services Agreement for the Statewide Automated Victim Notification Service (SAVNS) with Appriss Inc., which is the statewide vendor to provide SAVNS to participating entities such as Williamson County.
Background
The Statewide Automated Victim Notification Service (SAVNS) program provides relevant offender release information, notification of relevant court settings or events to crime victims and other interested individuals, promotes public safety, and supports the rights of victims of crime. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is the Texas State agency tasked with certifying a statewide vendor to provide SAVNS to participating political subdivisions of the State of Texas, including counties, county Sheriffs, clerks and attorneys, district attorneys, and courts. The OAG certified and contracted with Appriss Inc. as the statewide vendor to provide SAVNS to each of the Participating Entities. The OAG exercised its option to renew the OAG Certification Agreement with Appriss Inc., extending the term thereof to August 31, 2022 and it is necessary for Williamson County to consent to the renewal as a participating entity.
