Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 4 in the amount of $2,215.00 for Forest North Phase 3 (DeNucci Constructors), a Road Bond project in Commissioner Pct. 1.  P: 225  Funding Source: Road Bond

This Change Order adds two new bid items to pay the Contractor to replace a driveway and pipe end treatments located at the intersection of Wisterwood and Broadmeade in the Braes Valley Zone that were impacted by the installation of the City of Austin (COA) 12" water line referenced in Change Order No.1. The City of Austin has agreed to pay the additional cost associated with these items.

COA specifications do not allow connections to old pipe made out pf Asbestos Concrete (AC). Since a new connection to the existing pipe was called for, a full joint of AC pipe was removed and replaced with a joint of Ductile Iron (DI) pipe and the connection was made to the new DI pipe section. This water line connection was located next to the driveway, and a portion of the driveway had to be removed to connect to the nearest joint in the pipe. This Change Order adds an item to replace the driveway (Item 530) and an item to replace the sloped end treatments on the driveway pipe item (Item 432). The 12" COA water line connection was added in Change Order 1.

Items 0432-6002 RIPRAP (CONC) (5 IN) and 0530-6004 DRIVEWAYS (CONC) are existing bid items in the County portion of the contract. This Change Order adds two items to the items paid for by the COA. The City of Austin has agreed to pay the additional costs associated with these items. The use of these items will be directed by the City of Austin inspector assigned to the project.
