Purchasing solicited sealed bids for Schultz Ln and Meister Ln Milling, Sealing, Overlay and Striping. The bids have been reviewed and the apparent low bid (Texas Materials Group, Inc) was found to be responsive, mathematically correct, and materially balanced. The Contractor's low base bid is $167,886.48 below the Engineer's Estimate, a cost decrease of 43.1%. In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being low bidder, Texas Materials Group, Inc. has performed similar work on other projects and received positive references from those contacted. Based on the low bid of $221,622.52 and the previous work experience, we recommend awarding Texas Materials Group, Inc. the contract for the Schultz Ln and Meister Ln Milling and Overlay project.
