Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on awarding IFB T2912 Gattis School Road and Red Bud Ln Milling, Sealing and Overlay to the lowest responsive bidder Texas Material Group, Inc. and authorizing execution of the agreement.

THe Purchasing Department solicited sealed bids for Gattis School Road and Red Bud Ln Milling, Sealing and Overlay. The bids have been reviewed and the apparent low bid (Texas Materials Group, Inc) was found to be responsive, mathematically correct, and materially balanced. The Contractor's low base bid is $148,397.25 below the Engineer's Estimate, a cost decrease of 18.7%.  In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being low bidder, Texas Materials Group, Inc. has performed similar work on other projects and received positive references from those contacted. Based on the low bid of $644,240.75 and the previous work experience, we recommend awarding Texas Materials Group, Inc. the contract for the Gattis School Road and Red Bud Ln Milling, Sealing and Overlay project.
