The Purchasing Department issued a solicitation for Aggregate for Surface Treatments - Type D under IFB T2534.  No responsive bids were received.  Texas Local Government Code Sections 262.0225(d) and 262.045 allow the Purchasing Agent to recommend procedures for obtaining necessary items when no competitive bids are received. A recommendation was made to the Road and Bridge Department to solicit and obtain three (3) written quotes for this service, as originally bid out.  Only one (1) responded to the request. This response was evaluated by the Road and Bridge Department in the same manner as if it had been received during the initial bid process.   Based on the evaluation the department is recommending award to Capital Aggregates, Inc.  The approved FY 21 budget for this commodity for $300,000.00.
