Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on disposal of county assets through trade-in of existing livestock bucking chutes (Quote attached) for upcoming livestock, equestrian or rodeo events at the Williamson County Expo Center pursuant to Tex. Local Gov't Code 263.152(2) and authorized purchase for new livestock bucking chutes in the amount of $29,304.60 with Morgan Livestock Equipment under TIPS Cooperative contract # 200501.

Background

The attached quote to purchase new bucking chutes for the Williamson County Expo Center includes a trade-in value of $10,000.00 for the old livestock bucking chutes used in livestock, equestrian or rodeo events. The current chutes are still in working order but are in bad shape. The Expo facility experienced several issues during the last event with the latches and gates, which cannot be replaced. The current chutes were transferred to the County in an agreement with the Taylor Rodeo Association in December 2014. The department contact is Clint Chitsey. Funding source: 0100-0510-004509
