Agenda Item
Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving a Service and Maintenance Agreement for Uninterruptible Power Supply devices (UPS) in the Williamson County Emergency Services Operations Center (ESOC) in the amount of $35,322.10 and exempting Unified Power from the competitive bidding requirements for said service established by Section 262.024 (a)(7)(D) [Captive Replacement Parts and Components for Equipment] of the Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemptions, and authorizing the execution of the agreement.
Background
UPS batteries are the batteries within Uninterrupted Power Supply devices. These devices are intended to provide power for short periods of time during power outages.
This Service and Maintenance Agreement is for the Uninterrupted Power Supply devices at the Williamson County ESOC to maintain critical functions in the event of power interruption. Service is required to replace eighty (80) batteries at this time and an annual maintenace agreement is required to assure on-demand service is available throughout the year. The existing batteries were purchased from Unified Power and due to their knowledge and experience with the ESOC facility, this company is preferred for this service. Department Contact: Michael Moody. Funding Source: 01.0100.0581.004500.
