Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on Request to Accept Office of Governor Grant in support of Family Recovery Court and Creating Grant-Funded Case Manager Position. 

The Child Welfare Courts have been notified that they were approved for the requested Office of Governor Grant in support of the Family Recovery Court program.  We request that the Court authorize acceptance of this Grant and creation of the Grant-Funded position associated with the grant.  

This Grant amounts to $150,838.52, and includes funding in the following categories:

• Personnel (creating Case Manager position):  $63,024.36, to include salary and benefits
• Contractual and Professional Services (enhanced treatment capacity and substance use monitoring):  $75,402
•  Other Programmatic Expenses (travel and training, FF&E, software licenses, etc.):  $12,412.16

It will allow the Courts to provide case management and increased substance abuse/mental health treatment to parents involved in the Child Welfare (CPS) Court System.  It will also allow the Courts to utilize the Williamson County Bridge Model in CPS cases and test the ability of that Model to increase safe reunification of children with families.
