Agenda Item
Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on an Agreement for Crisis Services by and between Williamson County and Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center D/B/A Bluebonnet Trails Community Services to address coordination of crisis services in Williamson County, Texas.
Background
On October 19, 2021, the Commissioners Court heard an update from Chris Connealy on the City of Round Rock approving the creation of a Community Risk Reduction Program. Annie Burwell has accepted an offer from the City of Round Rock to begin the new program and many of the current MOT members are expected to go to Round Rock. To avoid confusion of multiple crisis teams, Chief Connealy recommended the ILA that the County has with Bluebonnet Trails Community Services be revised and that Bluebonnet provides the County's 24/7/365 crisis response. The Commissioner Court agreed with the recommendation and transition planning has been proceeding. The ILA attached outlines crisis services that Bluebonnet will provide, which also includes mental health professionals in 911 Dispatch, additional jail-based coordinators and a Physician Assistant to provide care to inmates at the jail.
