Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on the nomination process for Emergency Services District (ESD) Board Members following redistricting.

Williamson County Commissioners have generally nominated individuals to serve on Emergency Services District (ESD) Boards for ESDs that are located in his or her particular precinct by placing an agenda item on the Commissioners Court’s agenda.  Redistricting may have changed the county precinct that an ESD is located in and a different Commissioners Court member would then need to nominate a person to serve on such ESD’s Board.  Nominations should be placed on a December agenda in order appoint by January 1^st per Texas Health & Safety Code Section 775.034(d), although there have been times that (re-)appointments have taken place after January 1.  The members of the Commissioners Court may need to discuss the appointment process and determine how to proceed with the nomination processes for affected ESDs.
