Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the purchase of three (3) medical equipment purchases for the Williamson County Jail and exempting the procurement of such items from the competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemption 262.024(a)(2) - an item necessary to preserve the health and safety of the residents of Williamson County, and authorize the County Judge to execute all associated documents.
Equipment requested is a High Powered Slit Lamp Microscope from Armstrong Optical for $3,740.00; a Portable X-Ray Machine from Maven Imaging for $35,980.00 and an Ultrasound Machine from McKesson for $37,539.12 for a total expense amount of $77,259.12.

Background
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic the need to manage jail medical exams inside the jail when possible has become a priority for the health and safety of the jail occupants as well as the general public. The purchase of this equipment will allow many exams to take place onsite at the jail, hence, limiting unnecessary exposure. Details of the recommended purchases are attached herein. CARES Act funds shall be used for the purchase of these items. Point of contact for these items is Kathleen Pokluda.
