Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on gap funding for grant funded position of Specialty Court Coordinator for County Court 2. 

The Specialty Court Coordinator position for County Court at Law 2 is funded primarily through a grant from the Office of the Governor (OOG).  The Specialty Court Coordinator position is vital in the operation of the successful Veterans Treatment Court and the DWI/Drug Court programs.  The OOG grant award has been decreasing over the past few years and notice of the grant award has been coming well after the September 1st program start date.  This is also after the County budget is adopted, and after the beginning of the County's fiscal year.  This leaves a period with no allocated funds to continue to pay the salary of the Specialty Court Coordinator. Gap funding is being requested for the current grant funded position to ensure no lapse in salary while waiting for notice of renewal from the OOG.  Gap funding will be reimbursed by the grant if awarded.
