Discuss, consider and take appropriate action authorizing the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to accept funding through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program FY2022, Local Solicitation.

The Court previously approved the Sheriff's Office to apply for the Edward Byrne Memorial JAG Program on July 26, 2022, agenda item #46.  The Sheriff's Office is now seeking approval to accept $13,845.00 through this program for the Community Affairs Unit. Funds awarded through this grant will be used to purchase supplies for the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE), Citizens Academy, Public Safety Cadets and Junior Deputy Academy programs. The Sheriff's Office was previously awarded funds through the FY2018 and FY20219 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program to support the same programs. This grant requires no resolution or match.

Staff recommends the following action: Give approval to accept the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, FY2022 Local Solicitation and authorize appropriate County department personnel to complete documentation relevant to the implementation of the grant.
