Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving agreement #2023154 between Williamson County and The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company for emergency tree pruning due to storm damage at four (4) park locations with a not-to-exceed amount $49,500.00 and exempting this purchase from the competitive bid/proposal requirements pursuant to the discretionary exemption as set forth under Texas Local Government Code § 262.024 (a)(2) [an item necessary to preserve and protect the public health or safety or the residents of the county] and authorizing execution of the agreement.
Background
This Service Agreement is proposed to address tree damage in Williamson County parks caused by winter storm Mara. The Parks Department submitted emergency requisition #131316 for storm damage assistance. The scope of work includes the pruning of various tree species located along park trails to remove branches hanging over high traffic areas, removing hangers and other dangerous situations to make the trails safe for the public. The summary rates include Brushy Creek Regional Trail, Round Rock, TX 78681 in the amount of $14,520.00, Backland Heritage County Park, Georgetown, TX 78626 in the amount of $5,280.00, Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, 3005 C.R. 175, Leander, TX 78641 in the amount of $21,780.00 and Berry Springs Park and Preserve, 1801 C.R. 152, Georgetown, TX 78626 in the amount of $7,920.00 for a total amount of $49,500.00. Budget and Contract Audit have approved this agreement and purchase. Funding Source is 01.0100.0409.004987. Department point of contact is Emsud Horozovic.
