Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $925,354.41 for Project 22IFB139 FM 3349 at US 79 (James Construction) P: 332 Funding Source: Road Bond.

This Change Order compensates the contractor for installing temporary safety improvements on US 79 until the overpasses are built. By installing these traffic control measures (raised medians and traffic signals) the drivers traveling northbound on FM 3349 can no longer proceed straight or make a left turn at the US 79 intersection. The same will apply for traffic traveling south on CR 101. Drivers will need to make a right turn on US 79 followed by a U-turn at next crossover.

This Change Order results in a net increase of $925,354.41 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $82,866,392.54. The original Contract amount was $81,941,038.13. As a result of this and all Change Orders to-date, $925,354.41 has been added to the Contract, resulting in an 1.13% net increase in the Contract cost.  No additional days will be added to or deducted from the Contract as a result of this Change Order.
