Conduct public hearing related to a request from Williamson County EMS to convert EMS Parameidc 1626.001100 from one full-time position to two part-time positions. Funding via LIT will be provided to ensure 1696 is funded up to 29 hours per part-time postion.

The reason for the request to split the one full-time position into two part-time positions is due to a competitive job market as well as the associated costs of onboarding new hires. In order to retain employees who might otherwise leave, this option will allow WCEMS to retain qualified providers who are in good standing with the department. It reduces costs and keeps experienced providers in the field providing care. WCEMS currently has eight vacancies and creating two part-time positions prevents that number from expanding. The public purpose served by converting the two part-time positions is to increase the department's availability to retain current staff by adding flexibility to their schedules.
