Information
Agenda Item
The Interlocal Agreements (ILAs) will allow the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor to be considered, based on availability, as a location for establishing a Family Assistance Center following a Public Safety Incident (PSI) at schools in Granger or Thrall.
Background
Following a Public Safety Incident, such as an emergency evacuation, active shooter, or bus accident, it is important to quickly establish a Family Assistance Center (FAC) to provide a safe, secure, centrally located place for family reunification, and/or to obtain information and support services. The school facilities of both Granger and Thrall ISDs are in proximity to the Expo Center. The Interlocal Agreements (ILAs) will allow the ISDs to include the Expo Center in Taylor as a potential location to establish a FAC. The ISDs will provide the resources needed to establish the FAC with coordination assistance being provided by the Office of Emergency Management.
