BE IT REMEMBERED that at 2:37 P.M. on THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 2025, a SPECIAL SESSION of the Commissioners Court of Williamson County, Texas, was held with the following being present, to-wit:
Present:

Others Present:

COMMISSIONERS COURT RECESSED TO EXECUTIVE SESSION AT 2:38 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 2025.
 
1.
Interview candidates for the Office of Williamson County Judge and/or deliberate the appointment of the Williamson County Judge (Executive Session as per Gov. Code Section 551.074 – Personnel Matters: Deliberate the appointment and evaluation of public officer/department head).
 

No action was taken in Executive Session.

 
COMMISSIONERS COURT RECONVENED FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION AT 6:48 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 2025.

Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the appointment of the Williamson County Judge to serve until the next general election (Tex. Local Gov’t Code §87.041).
 

Motion by: Commissioner Precinct 2 Cynthia Long 
Second by: Commissioner Precinct 1 Terry Cook 

Motion:To appoint Steve Snell as Williamson County Judge to serve until the next general election in 2026.

Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on setting dates for holding Special Sessions of the Williamson County Commissioners Court.

Comments from Commissioners.
 

Commissioner Precinct 2 Cynthia Long thanked all applicants for jumping into the arena, mentioned that the four interviewees made it a very hard decision, and looks forward to continuing to work with those who were not selected in their various roles in the community. She also said she is excited for Steve, and we are blessed to have such a great leader as our next County Judge.

Commissioner Precinct 4 Russ Boles thanked the court for their professionalism through it all.

Commissioner Precinct 3 Valerie Covey said we would be working with Steve Snell on the timing of moving forward as he has some things to wrap up before joining the Commissioners Court. She mentioned that she knew a couple of the candidates very well, it was a very difficult decision for her, and thanked everyone for their interest.
