Reason for Recommended Action/Background
In March of 2000 Yolo County and Charter Communications (Charter) entered into Joint Facilities Agreement No. 00-76 (attachment B). This agreement allowed Charter to use certain sections of Yolo County communications conduit in exchange for Charter providing Yolo County with fiber optic cable in these same sections of conduit. Since then the Charter interests in Yolo County were purchased by Wave. The Assignment and Assumption Agreement, provided as Attachment A to this staff report, formally identifies Wave as assuming the responsibilities in the agreement made between Yolo County and Charter, including (but not limited to) certain maintenance and repair functions on the conduit and/or fiber.
