The Board requested the creation of an Ad Hoc Subcommittee for matters related to flood issues in Rolling Acres and the Plainfield area at their October 12, 2021 meeting (Item 39). Staff has prepared a proposed charter and authorizing document for the Board's consideration (see Attachment A). The document generally describes the issues that the Ad Hoc Subcommittee would provide guidance and direction on, such as collaboration and coordination with various public agencies, land use authorities, and residents; short term and long term actions to mitigate/reduce the effects of flooding within the 100-year floodplain; and potential regional projects and funding sources for project development and construction.  The Subcommittee would also be authorized to interact with other local, state, and federal agencies to advocate for County interests related to flood conveyance in the south-central region of the County.

Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the Board approve the charter and authorizing document (Att. A), subject to any changes or edits desired by the Board, and authorize the formation of the Rolling Acres/ Plainfield Flood Ad Hoc Subcommittee.

Staff has collaborated with County Counsel on this item.
