Recommended Action
- Adopt Authorized Position and Salary Resolution to implement changes in Human Resources, Probation and the Sheriff's Office; and
- Approve an accelerated merit step increase for a Social Worker Practitioner in the Health and Human Services Agency from Step 1 to Step 4 for exceptional qualifications, effective February 13, 2022.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
See Attachment A for changes to the Authorized Position and Salary Resolution.
Human Resources also recommends the Board approve the request from Health & Human Services Agency to grant an accelerated merit step increase to Step 4 for Melissa Vega, Social Worker Practitioner, for exceptional qualifications, effective February 13, 2022. The Board of Supervisors may adjust the salary of an incumbent to any step within the salary range in order to correct inequities, reward outstanding achievement and performance, or for other reasons acceptable to the Board. Melissa has over 12 years of experience in the delinquency system and brings a wealth of knowledge to the department in county, court and applying risk/safety assessments. This action will result in a 15% increase for the incumbent, effective February 13, 2022.
