Subject

Adopt Authorized Position and Salary Resolution to implement changes in Community Services, County Administrator, Human Resources, Probation and the Sheriff's Office; and appoint interim Mental Health Director and interim Public Guardian. (No general fund impact) (Lara)

Recommended Action

  1. Adopt Authorized Position and Salary Resolution to implement changes in Community Services, County Administrator, Human Resources, Probation and the Sheriff's Office; and
     
  2. Appoint Branch Director, Health & Human Services, Karleen Jakowski, as the designated interim Mental Health Director and appoint Branch Director, Health & Human Services, Ian Evans, as the designated interim Public Guardian, effective February 26, 2022.

Explanation: This action adjusts the salary range for the increase in State minimum wage.

Source of Funds: Prop 172 and General Fund
Explanation: This action increases the salary for equity and compaction adjustment.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

See Attachment A for changes to the Authorized Position and Salary Resolution.

The County must appoint an interim Mental Health Director, as a Licensed Clinician is required to be designated by State law and the Government Code. The County must also appoint an interim Public Guardian.
