Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The purpose of this ad-hoc subcommittee, as aligned with the Board’s strategic plan goals of thriving residents and flourishing agriculture, is to evaluate strategies that can be implemented locally to support agricultural farm workers and a healthy sustainable agricultural industry. Examples include strengthening access to medical care, housing, food security, transportation, and educational opportunities for those employed in farm labor. The committee will work with staff to develop and implement a plan to address needs and reduce or eliminate any gaps in services.
